The Mark Hotel renovation brought together a Jacques Grange interior, the Alexico
Group's investment program, and a hospitality program that includes 100 hotel rooms,
56 suites, a full-floor penthouse residence, the Mark Bar, the Frederic Fekkai
Salon, and Jean-Georges' main dining floor — a Michelin-recognized restaurant.
Owner-side Project Management
Senior project manager responsibilities included supervision of the owner project
management and design teams, monitoring of all schedules, project logs, budget
variances and contract logs, chairing weekly OAC meetings and monthly bank
requisition draws, and maintaining contract compliance, site safety objectives, and
construction code compliance through to project close-out and trade punch-list
completion.
The Result
The Mark stands among Madison Avenue's most distinguished hotels, and Jean-Georges
at The Mark continues to anchor New York's fine dining program. The project
established a working relationship with Alexico Group that extended to the David
Rockwell-designed Alex Hotel program shortly after.
